Reflective Portfolio tasks for Weeks (2-5)

Aspiration of every blogger is to post a blog that catches readability and comments. This is basically what I would like to achieve through blogging. However, just like theories have it, achieving such stature requires a well laid down strategies. The blog will be touching on current affairs; updating people on politics, economics and sports. Being the purpose of my blogs, they will need succinct structures so as to catch readers’ attention. Borrowing from Lawler’s theory of active blogging, a well structured blogging ensures my readers’ expectations and motivations are met. Lawler believes that readers’ motivation and expectancy is met through structure. My expectation however, will be to create a blog that other bloggers will not resist commenting on. The second strategy will be to develop a short, reassuring benefit-driven body. I understand the fact that people are not interested in me but how a click on my blog helps them. This is the reason why TechCrunch
and HuffingtonPost
still stand out to be the best blogs as they offer information the way I would like to know. An interesting aspect about blogging is peoples’ culture and orientations. This is another strategy that will be resourceful in my blogs—ensuring that I engage my readers by seeking their opinions as they read. This will be done in a polite and respectful way so as not to infringe their informative, cultures or religions.

Nokia is a multinational Company specialising in the manufacturing of mobile phones and its accessories. Just like other Companies, Nokia faces challenges in terms of legal risks associated with its products and services. One of such risks is the infringement on its trademark. Nokia is a registered trademark however; some Social Media Sites (SMS) such as facebook are able to generate fan pages for its users where the trade mark might be infringed. This is a relevant scenario as the Social Media Sites are able to take the trademark and use it inappropriately. The case is even serious when other branches of Nokia elsewhere have equal and competing rights to the trademark. In such case(s), it is advisable that Nokia’s Social Media Sites policy reserve all the rights to names on the Social Media Sites. Another legal risk Nokia can be exposed to regards loss and disclosure of confidential information on Social Media Sites. Some media sites such as LinkedIn are able to network one company with another. In so doing, a breach of confidential information such as employee and employer databases, and contacts may occur. In such cases, Social Media Site policy within the Company should change statuses and or profiles of the employees on their LinkedIn.
