Al Australis is a security company providing a range of security services. The company aims at offering complex security services basing on the unique requirements and conditions of a particular client. When dealing with property protection and protection of people, the company focuses on solving a range of problems relating to the security risks of the given a facility. This is quite an open and customer oriented approach which begs the company to rely more on the expectations of the client and subsequently designing appropriate structures to fulfil them.

The purpose of this project is to establish a new security network for a facility. The current security company shall see its contact at the facility expire in the next two months. The management at the facility is not willing to renew its contract with the company. As such, it has chosen to offer a contract to Al Australis. This project is aimed at designing a program and guideline of deploying a new security team at the company, including the relevant surveillance equipment needed at the facility. It involves assessing the safety and security conditions at the company and providing the appropriate answer based on facility requirements.

Background:

Security is a very essential aspect in every company or organization. Every company has valuable items; including employees that need to be protected from danger to ensure maximum production. The right level of security ensures the company is free from crime, terror attacks, and any other risks. In the contemporary world, security firms face a wide range of dangers, threats and emergencies- from intrusions and fires to natural disasters and violence. This is evident in all types of businesses, facilities and institutions whether in health care, education, industrial or commercial sectors. In such challenging environments, security firms must be well equipped with necessary safety paraphernalia, prepared to communicate quickly and efficiently in times of emergency. Consequently, companies should deploy there security teams and systems based on an informed plan. This necessitates a comprehensive project that shall assess the security situation of the facility and its safety needs before deciding on the right approach to deploy security personnel and install security systems.

Organisational Requirements

The facility requires an Intergrated security solution that begins with the safety of the employees and an information management platform that suits its needs, applications and infrastructure. Additionally, it requires the right technology that will enable the management of complex systems effectively, seamlessly and efficiently. It also requires a quick delivery of data and effective response in incident management across all the security systems in the facility. This includes intrusion, access control, fire detection, surveillance cameras, emergence communications and alarms.

Approach

To fulfil this, Al Australis shall conduct a review of the current facility status. The company shall contact the outgoing company to help in analysing the security threats, possible challenges and areas that need adjustments and maximum concentration. Additionally, the company shall use a team of two people involving a supervisor and experienced security personnel to assess the specific requirements at the company. Direct interviews shall be contacted with employees and the management of the facility to assess the general conditions in the company and a comprehensive security report shall be written. Basing on the report, the company shall purchase and install the appropriate security systems, and recruit, train and deploy the relevant security team.

Timeframe & Milestones

The entire process is scheduled to take place in two months.

-In the first week, the assessment of the premises shall be done including interviews with the outgoing security company and the facility staff.

-In the second week, a comprehensive report shall be compiled. The report shall also outline the budget for relevant equipment, installation process and the recruitment and training process of the relevant security personnel.

-The third week shall involve recruiting relevant security guard and supervisors from other facilities.

— In the fourth, the company shall begin the process of installing the relevant security systems and testing their validity and reliability. This process is expected to end in a period of three weeks.

-The process of training security personnel shall continue for a month.

— The last week, the team shall be oriented in their respective new positions and will be ready to start.

9. Exclusions

The company shall only shortlist and train its employees already deployed in other facilities or areas. As such, there will be no recruitment of unskilled security guards from outside. Additionally, the training shall not include other areas that are not relevant to addressing the security issues at the facility.

The success fasters include:

-Experiencing low security problems at the facility.

-Experiencing low turn over

-Maximising returns for the company.

Assumptions

-The company assumes that the facility has already had experiences with other security companies. As such, the company does not expect to meet many challenges from the staff.

-The company also assume that the company has had a safety and security assessment prior to this. As such, we expect to find little problems in identifying company needs and requirements.

— We also expect stability in the company throughout the assessment process so that the data collected shall be ideal.

Constraints

The policies of the outgoing company may slightly differ from Al Australis’. As such, the employees and clients of the facility may find it had to adjust in the initial days. Additionally, this project is set to happen within a specified budget. Consequently, additional expenses may not be effectively addressed. This can be a limitation for a smooth process.
