Understanding Organisations and the Role of HR Essay Example
This report is a part of the CIPD program where I look towards analyzing the organization where I work as an appraisal specialist in the education sector. The paper will evaluate the different products and services which are offered by the organization, the external customers, the goal and purpose of the organization, the external factors impacting business, description of the organizational structure, the manner in which the different functions work together, and identification of the culture impacting business.
I work as a appraisal specialist in the education sector where the education sector looks to provide basic education and develop with the prevailing time so that changes in education can be done. The organization mainly looks towards working in the service sector which aims towards developing the educational field. As an appraisal specialist the major function is to find out different avenues and options through which better educational services can be provided so the better service standards for the educational sector is developed.
The different external customers which the organization has to deal with is government bodies, students, teachers, educational governing bodies, society, creditors, suppliers and so on. The external customer thereby constitutes of all people who have some direct or indirect association with the organization and looks towards contributing towards the educational sector in some way or the other (Martin & Whiting, 2013).
The purpose and goal of the organization is to improve the standard of education by finding out new ways and methods which will support the present educational system and develop new educational forums. In addition to it the organization also looks at exploring the different opportunities through which better educational facilities are developed and the standard of education is improved.
The working of the organization gets impacted due to external environment and policies needs to be developed keeping those in mind. The different external factors thereby impacting the organization are as
Legal factors have an impact on the manner organization words as when new legislation is passed the business has to make amendments so that the different business needs are met and legal needs are attained. Changes in laws pertaining to education has an impact as it impacts the different courses and changes have to be made keeping in mind the changes in the legal structure
Economic changes have an impact on the number of people looking to pursue different educational courses. In case the economy is strong and purchasing power of people is high it gets reflected in the education sector as the demand for high profile courses and courses which are of high value and require huge funds increases. This thereby results in impacting the educational sector as people looking to pursue a course chances with economic conditions.
Technological changes impact the education sector as the development and advancement of technology requires that the business is able to make the required changes through which education is imparted (Beevers, & Rea, 2013). This will require adopting the technology and using it which increases the cost for the organization and is an aspect which has a role in educating people.
Political climate has an impact on the working of the educational sector as a stable political climate ensures better rules and regulations. Stability in the political system provides an opportunity for policies to be implemented properly and ensures that the educational sector is able to work on the different dimensions through which better growth can be ensured.
Social changes impact the quality of education as when society becomes more circumspect and starts to adopt other culture it results in creating an urge for education which thereby has a positive impact and increases the demand for different courses. This results in making changes in the education sector and requires finding ways to improve the overall quality of education.
The organization follows a top down structure where rules are passed from the top to the below. The different directives are developed after consultation with all and even freedom is provided to ensure that the process looks towards listening and inculcating others view point.
The different functions which the organizations thereby look to carry out are
Develop new courses which will help to provide better education facilities
The HR department looks at hiring and recruiting teachers and others who have the required knowledge in the different fields which have been desired
Develop the process of L&D which matches international standards and will thereby look to strengthen the overall quality of education
To use technology so that education can be passed to every part of the country
The organization to ensure that the different functions work together looks towards ensuring that the different departments work in tandem with one another. Since, the process is linked it will thereby help to provide an avenue through which better results are achieved and people work together as a single unit
The culture is one where people are cooperative and look towards improving the business. This helps in the following ways
It helps to find out new opportunities and develop the educational sector
It helps to improve efficiency and reduce wastage.
