Steve Jobs applied both transactional and transformational leadership styles in the management of Apple Company where he was working towards ensuring that the organization was successful in the market. Steve Jobs applied transactional leadership style by making sure that he ensured a good relationship with the employees of the organization. Transactional leadership entails exchanging transaction or a relationship. For instance, the exchange or the transaction can be a punishment or a reward to the employees for their performance. Steve Jobs applied transactional leadership with an aim of enhancing the productivity of the employees in the organization. The exchange can be for money after work hence the moment the exchange is over the relationship is said to come to an end. Steve Jobs ensured that some incentives are provided to improve the productivity of the employees (Chemers, 2000). The incentives were given to the employees that were performing well hence assisting in ensuring that employees are working hard to make sure that they can receive the incentives. He could ensure that the employees are demoted or given certain punishment aiming at making them committed to improving their productivity. As a result, the employees could ensure that they are not given punishment hence working towards achieving the set goals of the apple company. The exchange exercised was fair to make sure that team members are not demotivated by the system used to enhance their productivity. Employing transactional leadership in the management of Apple Company Steve job ensured that the employees complied with the requirements and the rules set in the team.

Steve Jobs applied transformational leadership in the process of ensuring that the employees were fully motivated to ensure organizational success. The leadership of Steve Jobs made sure that the employees were considered in the process of making decisions of the company. He could ensure that the employees were involved in the process of formulating policies of the company. Besides, the employees were considered crucial in the course of formulating the strategies of the company. The employees were given the chance to give their contributions hence assisting in the formulation process. That was crucial in ensuring that the resistance of the employees to change could be avoided as the employees were in a position to understand the reasons for the change and the benefits associated with the change. The employees were inspired in various ways to make sure that they could achieve their set goals such as career goals hence assisting in their personal development (Chemers, 2000). The transformational leadership employed by Steve Jobs can be associated with many benefits in the management of a team such as improving job satisfaction, creativity, and motivation of the employees and achieve the organizational goals among other benefits. As a transformational leader, Steve Jobs ensured that the employees were engaged in the process of making decisions hence giving them a chance to give their opinions concerning the management of the organization. Transformational leadership helped Steve Jobs in the course of ensuring that the company productivity could be improved through inviting in the employees where he ensured that the employees head the relevant skills in the industry.
