Robotics industry has emerged from the industrial robotics and self-driving cars sci-fi to a reality today. It is notable that have for quite a while been an installation inside the processing plant stores, as well as, other heavy industrial workplaces. However, this has changed with the emergence of new class of robots that are promising for a
little group to create and modest and to legitimize their endeavors. For instance, robots that will monitor grocery stores, mow the lawn for people or even self-driven vehicles with a regular recharging system.
The reason for these advancements is simple and can be equated to timing. The advancements that are being experience in the robotics industry have been have been developing for quite a long time and seems to be converging now (Bekey). The trajectories of smart autonomous robots or machines have been, and it’s being accelerated by a growing trend in the broader technology industry. This implies that there is a growing trend in the open source software library, progressions in the game system, inexpensive sensors and an increasing power, as well as, energy efficient processors.
It is important to note that the cost of producing and developing autonomous robotics is going down. This is as a result of a reduction and easy accesses to the devices mentioned above that are used in their development. To have intelligent robotics they must be able to process and interact with the surroundings which can be achieved through the use of sensors. Some time back these sensors were very costly which made it almost not possible to develop a robot on the cheap. However, this has improved which is a promising future in the development of these devices.
The emergence of open source software’s has helped to end the long period of nonequivalent in the robotics industry. These software’s are free to use and have contributed a shared knowledge base to the growing robotic industry. This has steered their functionality positively saving them from decades of fundamental programming and liberating them from work that makes an interpretation of them to their bot better.
The other important aspect to note about the future of the autonomous robots is that union of these innovations has activated enthusiasm among understudies who ached to work in other building occupations (Reif, 171-194). Education institution holds decades of institutional knowledge in robotics research, but it is only recently that students who studied the discipline have had an opportunity to get access to jobs related to their studies. This clearly indicates that the autonomous robotics industry is growing and has a likelihood of expanding more in the coming future.
The autonomous robots are increasingly broadening the world horizons and beyond the factory floor. This is from the robotic vacuums drones and bomb retrievers to robots being used in surgery, space exploration agriculture and construction among other industries. This indicates autonomous robotics can be used in almost every industry, but it is not easy to specifically state the actual industry they can be used. As stated above, they are being used in numerous industries. However, it is evident that there are some industries that will depend more on them compared to others, for instance, the military operations.
