It is true that the field of pedagogy and curriculum development is guided by various philosophical theories. In fact, pedagogy, curriculum development and design are the fields that highly align to the philosophical theories advanced by early scholars (Brown, 2011). I strongly agree with the position taken in the article that there is no single philosophical theory that can be said is monopolistically applied in pedagogy and curriculum development. Virtually, all the philosophical theories developed have found substantial application in the field of education.

Categorically, the nursing curriculum development and design applies philosophical theories like concepts of cognitive, affective and psychomotor. These concepts inform the development of nursing curriculum so that learners can gain enhanced knowledge and skills required for a competent practice. It is known that the training of nurses always seeks to ensure that they have skills of interacting with patients properly. When training nurses on interaction skills, it is imperative that the related philosophical theories be applied (Joseph & Juwah, 2012). Truly, philosophies such as constructivism and humanistic approaches have found high relevance in nursing training (Keating, 2014). It is important to note that the nursing profession is about caring for the sick people. Therefore, the philosophies of good caring are quire essential in a nursing class. Nurses are taught and trained on good caring skills. They are made to believe in caring for people.

I believe that this article is objective in terms of its points of view regarding the application of philosophical theories in nursing curriculum development and design. Moreover, the content of the article is consistent and coherent. Points raised in this article are corroborated by scholarly and up-to-date references, which make the information given credible. The article is also unequivocal in terms of the position taken on the question of what philosophical theory is applicable in curriculum development and design.
