Reflection Essay Example
The concepts of social sciences are significant when discussing different theories. Several scholars have come up with their own views and opinions regarding the social sciences. According to Gibson-Graham (2001), social sciences should be characterized by transcendental conditions of the system of social labor. He also argues that it should also be able to reflect on the critique on the concepts of self generation and natural historical process of self generation. Social science requires the understanding of the theories of natural laws and society. I find the topic to be quite relevant to the concepts of social research. The practical role of theory in research is also explained in the article. I find it important as it creates an important role in enhancing the understanding the theoretical concepts of research. On the other hand, it is also important to note that the concepts of social sciences can be easily understood when relating the concepts of social research and social sciences. I have learnt that the concepts of social sciences require a clear analysis of the theories.
Marxism and Positivism
According to Pavlidis (2010), the concepts of critical thinking play an essential role in ensuring that the meaning of education is obtained. Critical thinking is related to the concepts of dialects. Dialects involve the highest form of reasoning. Critical thinking and reasoning are closely related and they are also applicable in most fields including the social science. Marxism incorporates the concepts of critical thinking and social moral stance. According to the concepts of Marxism, critical thinking ensures that the social problems are highlighted. The concepts of social sciences also play an essential role in defining the concepts of labor. I find the information to be quite important in terms of relating the concepts of Marxism and the social conditions. Positivism on the other hand plays a vital role in defining the concepts of reality. The post-modernism concepts are however opposed to positivism. I have learnt that the concepts of positivism are opposed to the critical thinking concepts and hence promoting the generalization of the ideas. I have also noted that the concepts of critical thinking lead to better understanding of issues.
Structuralism, modernism, and phenomenology
Analyzing issues in social research is important in terms of ensuring that the outcome of the research is credible. According to Barnacle (2001), the concepts of phenomenology play an important role in ensuring that the research is conducted in an ethical manner. The conscious results can be obtained incase the research is conducted in an ethical manner. I find that the concepts of phenomenology are important in ensuring that the level of accuracy in the research is enhanced. Modernism and capitalism are also closely related. However, the concepts of modernism and capitalism have been blamed for creating false needs in the society. I agree with the arguments that modernism and capitalism are responsible for creating false needs among the members of the society. This is because of the negative thinking that is created by modernism. Modernism is related to the concepts of critical thinking. This is because of the importance that critical thinking plays in terms of ensuring that research is carried out effectively. I have also learnt that the concepts of modernism are applicable in most of the sectors and hence its importance in the modern day.
The feminism theory has been generating a lot of controversy since the formation of the feminist movements. According to Margarragia, the concepts of feminism are still relevant in the world today. This is due to the continued discrimination that the women face in the society. On the other hand, the concepts of masculinity are still common in the society. This is has led to the domination of memo in the society. The concepts of feminism are thus relevant in the modern society for the purposes of ensuring that the interest of women is protected in the society. On the other hand, it is also important to note that it has been argued that the feminism have contributed to the rising cases of divorce. Most of the women are also be coming independent due to adopting the concepts of feminism. I agree with the arguments that feminism is still relevant to day due to the domination that is still talking place in the society. I however disagree with the argument that feminism has contributed to the increase in divorce rates being witnessed in the society. I also agree that feminism is still relevant in the modern society as the women are still facing also of challenge in the society.
Post-Structuralism and Post-Modernism
The concepts of objectivity and subjectivity play an important role in social research. According to Weedon (1997), the concept of subjectivity is responsible for disunity and conflict. This is because of the subjectivity is constructed and it deals with the definition of different terms. It is due to the construction that subjectivity leads to the problems in terms of definitions. It is also important to note that subjectivity has resulted to different definitions. I find the concepts of post-structuralism to be contradictory and it is responsible for the disunity during the social research. Post modernism on the other hand plays an essential role in influencing the modern practices in different fields. On the other hand, it is also important to note that the concepts of post-modernism have a lot of influence in the academic field. The concepts of post-modernism also play an essential role in influencing the field of politics. This is mainly in terms of the decision making process. I find the idea of post-modernism to be important in influencing the social research. This is mainly in terms of decision making process and the use of the different concepts.
According to Weedon (1997), the concepts of post-structuralism have both the political and ethical implications. However, the concepts vary in theory and in practice in relation to politics. Post structuralism also plays an essential role in influencing the knowledge that is impacted on the learners. This is because it influences the field of education. Social research is also dependant on the concepts of post-structuralism (Usher, et al, 1997). This is because it determines how the analysis of different concepts will be carried out. It is also important to note that post structuralism is useful in influencing the political changes in the world. I find the concepts of post-structuralism to be important in ensuring that the learners are impacted positively in terms of gaining knowledge. This is because of the influence that it has on the learners. I find that the concepts of post-structuralism are also important in terms of influencing political change within the society. Post-structuralism also influences the social processes within the society and it also has a lot of influence on the social research concepts.
Psychoanalysis and social theory
The social theory mainly deals with language and the interpretation of its meaning. According to Elliot, (1999), social theory involves professional practice and research methodologies. Practice and transformation are also important elements of social theory. Psychoanalysis is also an important concept that is related to social theory. This is because the concepts of social theory can be used for the purposes of explaining the concepts of psychoanalysis. The concepts of psychoanalysis also play an essential role in defining the issues of sexuality and subjectivity. I find the concepts of social theory to be quite useful when carrying out the social research. This is because it aids the interpretation of words when it comes to the social research. It therefore plays an essential role in influencing the outcome of the research. I also believe that the concepts of psychoanalysis are closely related to social theory. The relationship between subjectivity and sexuality is also important in social sciences and it is well explained in the concepts of psychoanalysis.
The concepts of post-psychoanalysis provide information regarding the human nature. According to Marcuse (1995), the human subject is both subjective and decentralized. The social transformation has greatly post-psychoanalysis. This is because social transformation has taken place due to most of the modern practices and concepts. Globalization is one of the modern trends that have affected post-psychoanalysis. The concepts of post-psychoanalysis also follow a certain trend which is dependant on the prevailing condition. I find that the ideas of psychoanalysis are influenced by various factors including the trends in the society. Globalization is one of the modern trends and it appears to have a significant trend on the concepts of post-psychoanalysis. The information regarding the human nature is also evident in the concepts of post-psychoanalysis.
