Success is due only hard work. Luck does not make a person successful or unsuccessful.

I strongly agree with the statement that for a person to become successful he or she must work hard. In other words, luck does not make an individual successful or unsuccessful. Before I continue with the argument it is necessary to understand what luck means. People who are lucky are those who find themselves in the right opportunities and utilize them to their own advantage. For instance, consider a scenario where an individual becomes successful in his business because of having met another person in his life who happened to introduce a business idea to him. It is easy to conclude that it is due to luck that the person is successful. In addition, it appears from this example that there is a close relationship between luck and success, but in real sense the successful business person met the person with the business idea because he had been looking for him for a long time, but not because he was lucky.

In order to make things happen in life, we have to try once and again until we see them come to reality. When a person is admitted to the University, he or she is expected to sit for different tests whose marks add up to the final grade. It is unrealistic to expect that a student will be lucky to pass the tests with higher marks without knowing what is required to write the tests. In case the person failed the tests, he or she may not proceed to the next level. What I mean is that to be successful in anything we do, we must work hard for it. In this case, the student must prepare for the tests well and work hard to acquire a higher grade. If we keep on trying and trying we will finally become successful in whichever we do. The successful business person I have talked about earlier was lucky because he continued to look for a person who could provide him with a business opportunity and he eventually came across one. Therefore, he can not confidently claim that he was successful because of luck, but because of persistence and hard work. Ideally, if we want to become successful, we just have to continue trying until we get the right opportunity while being ready to take advantage of the very opportunity.

Our success commences with believing that we shall be successful and then working hard towards achieving that believe. Success is influenced by various factors, such as how we think, focusing on achieving goals, and most importantly hard word, but not luck. In most cases, we look at people who are successful and allege that they were lucky when in real sense their persistence and hard work created their luck. Therefore, luck has nothing to do with someone being successful. Success in the ability to turn goals and dream into reality and it requires hard work to become successful.
