Introduction to Motivation as a Concept

Motivation indicates the level of employees’ desire to perform tasks regardless the level of happiness in working place. Employees who are motivated undertake and perform their duties and hence they are more productive, engaged and more invested in their duties. Managers and supervisors are supposed to motivate the employees to do their tasks and jobs well. They are supposed to encourage employees to become more effective and productive. The motivation in management indicates the process that a manager uses motivate to their employees to improve their performance and to become more productive (Campbell, 2016). The motivated employee becomes friendlier hence creating a pleasant working environment that attracts customers more likely to return. This makes the motivated employee become more productive and delivering high-quality output for the company.

Managers use different means to motivate through encouraging employees to become more productive and efficient. This makes employees feel that the task they do has great importance not only to the manager but also to themselves. The employer should have emphases to the employee that good work rewards and treating them fairly (Homberg & Vogel, 2016). Motivation encourages employees to undertake their tasks and duties more efficiently. Incentives and recognition are the key factors that influence the level of motivation. Incentives are designed to influence behavior and motivate employees to improve production and quality of work. These incentives include paid time off, offering bonuses and travel perks among others motivational rewards. Employee recognition by their employers helps in improving the quality of production. It is through the recognition that employee rewards and acknowledge the best employees performing their duties well (Pounders, Kowalczyk, & Stowers, 2016). This makes employees feel good and encouraged to improve. Self-motivation makes the employee have sense of accomplishing and achieving personal and professional goals. It makes employees self-disciplined while performing their tasks and duties.

Teamwork is the process of collaborating with a group of workers in achieving specified goals. In the workplace, teamwork offers a company and its staff a chance and ability to become familiar with one another and hence learning how to work together. Teamwork is a vital and most important aspect for the success of the company and employee development. This helps in developing company policies and assisting in encouraging team growth in the workplace. There are various elements associated with teamwork and how they influence productivity and performance in an organization (Erbert, 2016). Teamwork requires delegation, efficiency, ideas and support in achieving the main objective and steering toward the success of the company. These elements are essential in teamwork, management and ensuring all team players are taking part and having full participation and contribution.

Delegation of tasks in a team depends on the members’ proficiency and skills to handle the duty. These tasks are delegated depending on skills and knowledge as well as expertise. The team members understand the strengths and weaknesses of every member as it helps in building strong teamwork (GRAŽULIS, 2015). Strong teamwork helps managers and executives to determine easily the best members to perform and undertake specific job tasks.

Efficiency is another element of teamwork whereby teams develop systems that enable and allow efficient and quick completion of tasks. This happens when a task is handled by a skilled and well-trained member of the team. It assures high quality, efficient, accurate and quick completion. This makes the company generate more revenue without incurring any more cost such as the addition of employees (Erbert, 2016). Teamwork improves the production and performance of the company.

Idea generation happens when the members of the team exchange their views concerning the company success and performance. Teamwork in the workplace, discusses issues regarding the company (GRAŽULIS, 2015). When working together as a team, it allows all the members to feel comfortable in contributing and suggesting their views and ideas. This is the best platform for brainstorming and suggesting information that is beneficial to the company in operations.

Organization structure indicates the arrangement of people and tasks or duties on how to be performed and meeting company’s objectives and goals. In a large organization, formal structure is essential as it helps in indicating different positions. Established procedures are put in place to help with responsibility assignment in different organizational departments (Alhaqbani, Reed, Savage, & Ries, 2016). Typical hierarchy arrangement showing the authority line, communication channel, rights and duties in the organization is essential in defining the organizational structure. It helps in connecting all the department management to chief executive officers. Organizational structure determines the communication channel flow, delegation of duties and decision-making command (Kopia, 2016). Furthermore, the organizational structure indicates how the roles, power, and responsibilities are controlled, coordinated and assigned to employees. This depends on with the flow of information on the different organizational levels of management.

The nature of the structure depends on with the objective and strategy of the company. Two forms of an organizational structure are centralized and decentralized structures. The centralized organization structure is when the top management has the most power over other organizational departments and divisions in decision making (Arnaldo & Graca, 2016). Decentralized organizational structure happens when the decision-making power tends to be distributed at all levels that are organizational department and divisions depending on their degree of independence. The organizational structure enables allocation of responsibilities to different functions and processes to entities such as branch, department, and working groups. The organization structure provides strong foundation whereby the company’s operating procedures and routines are performed. Furthermore, it determines at what managerial level to participate in the decision-making process and how organizational actions are shaped.

Furthermore, the management engages the workers in a friendly manner to contribute to the company’s success. This platform ensures that employees feel being part in the decision making. In the Emirate Group Company teamwork, the staffs are dedicated to improving the company’s performance and productivity. This has ensured that the company becomes more competitive in airline services not only in the United Arabs Emirates but also from a global perspective. The company has a high rate of returns that is majorly contributed by hardworking and motivated employees (Kopia, 2016). This happens due to teamwork and collaboration of management with employees.

In the teamwork, a delegation of duties has ensured that Emirate Group Company employees work in areas of their expertise. The Emirate Group Company management delegates duties to employees depending on their skills and expertise. The management understands the staffs depending on their strengths and weaknesses. This can only happen as the management and employees work as a team. The employees are efficient as teamwork develops a system that connects all staff members to contribute their efforts to a specific task or duty (Arnaldo & Graca, 2016). This ensures that efficient and quick completion of the task is achieved with respect to a time schedule. The company has a typical hierarchical arrangement whereby the highest management makes decisions affecting the airline operations. As an international company, the Emirate Group Company has to have a clear communication and authority line, and channels that would help in connecting all the countries it serves (Arnaldo & Graca, 2016). The communication channels help in determining the flow of information, duties delegations and decision-making on different aspects of the Emirate Group Company. Therefore, the company has a clear flow of power, roles and responsibilities from senior management to junior staffs.

This would ensure employees work harder to achieve these incentives and rewards. The Emirate Group Company is an international company and hence having high positions for promotions (Homberg & Vogel, 2016). The best employees should be rewarded with a promotion to the next level. Other forms of incentives and rewards include offering bonuses, free holidays to the countries of Airline services and paid offs. These motivational incentives would ensure all staffs work extra harder to realize the organizational goals and objectives.

Staffs from the specific department in the organization, brainstorm ideas concerning the same department. This indicates that they have similar expertise and skills concerning the department roles. The company should ensure that employees in the department work as a unit or team (MIXON, 2014). Managers are the leaders in these teams and ensure delegation of duties and work are perfectly shared among the team members depending on skills and expertise.

Using decentralization organizational structure approach, the company management should ensure all staffs have a say in the company’s operations. Therefore, there is the need of using the organizational structure in defining the company’s communication structure and flow of information. These channels enable to recognize the management decision making, controlling and coordinating activities in the carious department in the company.

The implications of improving motivation, teamwork, and organizational structure would be realized through the high return, high performance, and productivity. Improving motivation in the Emirate Group Company would ensure the organization achieves its goals and objectives. The organization management has to play a great role in ensuring employees are motivated to increase productivity and high-quality services. Teamwork is the basic foundation for high performance (Alhaqbani, Reed, Savage, & Ries, 2016). Management of Emirate Group Company, especially in different departments, should ensure expertise and skilled personnel takes part in undertaking the company’s roles and duties. This would ensure the company achieves its mandate through realizing its targets. The organizational structure plays a major role in the performance, especially in controlling and coordinating the company operations. The Proper organizational structure ensures entire company management oversees all the process and performance in the organization. This platform would coordinate the all the activities depending on the defined structure of the company.
