Philippines HIV Epidemic
According to a report released by the head of AIDS research Group of the health department of Philippines, The disease has officially been declared a national crisis. The report suggests that the rate at which the disease is spreading is going out of hands in other words growing uncontrollable. Dr Ressannna Ditango of the health department argues that the government’s current approach of combating the spread of the disease is destined for a spectacular failure as he thinks it’s not all inclusive.
Today the rate of infection in Philippines is highest among all the countries within the Asia Pacific region. The spread is still imminent and based on the advice the government has obtained from various lobby groups which are in accordance with the international agreement on economic, social and cultural rights, it has adopted the “treat all” approach.
