The title Union Mobilization: A Consideration of the Factors Affecting the Willingness of Union Members to Take Industrial Action, is an apparent and direct representation of the content of the entire article. The authors, Donna M. Buttigieg, Stephen J. Deery and Roderick D. Iverson capture the complete fundamental nature of the article in the title.

The article has enabled me to understand that industrial relations are complex in nature and the parties involved should be based on open communication. In addition, leadership is one of the most vital and influential things in corporate relations. The issue in between the union and the banking organization were brought to light more aggressively with the change of leadership in the union. The leadership on either side should be up to date with the changes that take place in the organization so that they incorporate the union. At the beginning, both sides were getting benefits to their satisfaction. With time, the union saw that the organization was flourishing more while the union remained the same.

By showing the context that brought about the issue between the bank and the union, the article has added to my understanding the fact that mutual benefits need to be felt by all parties that are in an industrial relation for it to work well. It has also come to my attention that some of the specifications that are contained in industrial relations result in neglecting the needs of some parties. Joint management and decision making is an important factor in promoting mutual benefit. The industrial relations should not be taken for granted and the organizations that have entered into such relations with unions should make an effort to ensure that there is a quality to the relations that attracts people to it. The relationship flourished at the beginning because the bank had a better relationship with the union than others.
