Document addressing the selection criteria

This document outlines various skills, capabilities and personal qualities which address the selection criteria for this position. Firstly, the fact I have the ability of teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) course makes me suitable for this position. This is founded on the backdrop that in the course of my work, I will interact with a wide alley of students from different backgrounds and my skills and abilities in TEFL will be highly applicable in teaching highly gifted and talented students as well as students from a non-English speaking background.

Secondly, my team work skills will be integral in ensuring effective working in team settings with the sole goal of improving learning and teaching which is at the core of the selection criteria. In this case, my skills in teamwork will enable me to engage in healthy interactions with other members of the faculty towards the development and enhancement of the teaching programs, resources and whole school programs. Actually, getting along well with others is one of my core qualities which will be fundamental in fostering teamwork, not only with the faculty members but also with the students towards elevated performance.

Additionally, based on the fact that I have robust computer skills, this will be paramount in will informing the integration of technological models in my teaching practices. This is against the selection criteria whereby the applicant of this position is expected to have extensive potential of integrating technology in engaging 21st century learners. On the other hand, the basic fact that I have extensive time management and organizational skills will be integral in ensuring that I effectively manage a wide alley of activities ranging from teaching work to drama. This will be critical in meeting the goals and objectives of these programs both in the short and in the long-term. Moreover, my senior first aid certificate will be central in addressing any minor emergencies which might arise out of my different roles, for instance, in case a student gets injured in the course of drama work. Additionally, my knowledge in occupational health and safety will also come in handy in these processes whereby I will be in a position to identify and address any risks associated with certain practices in the drama sessions and be in a position to replace them with other activities and practices which pose minimum risks to the students.

Lastly, my robust problem solving skills will also be core in the identification and redressing any specific issues which might be facing the students in this institution. This is particularly key in meeting the specific needs of different individuals or collectives in this institution.
