There is need for staff to manually go fetch water from the hand pumps. This makes it a big challenge to have enogh supply of clean water in the clinics. From the rainfall data it is seen that there is rainfall which takes several months in all the four regions. With corrugated roof areas being available at the clinics rainwater harvesting can easily be harvested and stored to supplement the water supply. The storage tanks should be optimally designed to ensure that most of the rainwater is harvested. Since the rainwater supply does not require use of power the design will ensure that storage tanks are of maximum capacity such that reliance on generator is minimum if not eliminated fully. Design of water harvesting system can be extended to other plic institution where we have sufficient water harvesting catchments. At this public places there should be maximum utilization of the roof catchments so that excess water can be utilized by the neighboring communities. The distance of the public to access the ater can be reduced by connecting pipelines to waterpoints which are to be near the villages. Problem analysis The design of the water system should be able to harness water from the available catchment areas. The current system in does not have water collection from the roofs and storage facilities. Design criteria In terms of design there is need to have an optimum storage capacity which matches the available catchment area. There is also need to incorporate in the system cleaning mechanism that will ensure that dirty does not enter the storages. The storage tanks should also be constructed to be strong enough to withstand the weight of the water when full and also should be durable. To ensure sustainability use of local materials should be given a priority. Also use of locally available skills like the people who have masonry skills and those who have sheet metal fabrication skills should be looked among the population and given chance to utilize their skills for pay. Design Area 5: ICT Airtel is the mobile phone provider in the study area. With a tower covering an area of about 15- 25km in radius with most settlement areas not being included. As a result of most of the areas not accessing network it means that day to day communication is not possible and also emergency communication in the areas is hampered.
