Climate change is one of the greatest problems in the world; it is responsible for a burden of premature deaths as well as diseases. It has been predicted that; some diseases such as malaria, cholera, tick-borne diseases and dengue fever are likely to affect many people in different regions that experience high temperatures. Due to increased precipitations and the high temperatures, vectors such as ticks, sand flies, and mosquitoes have multiplied in large numbers.
Population health has been affected by climatic changes. This is due to the increased air and water pollution. Food shortage is also another challenge resulting from climatic changes since agricultural productivity has been compromised by unpredictable rainfalls, seasonality, and temperatures.
Global warming has contributed to rising seas. The rising sea levels have greatly increased due to the expansion of ocean waters when they warm. This result to melting of the glacier compounds (Mitchell, Timothy & Philip, p 710). When these compounds melt, more fresh water is dumped into the oceans. There is a great threat of inundating the islands and low lying areas due to the rising seas. Therefore, the coastal populations are under threats, shorelines are also eroded; properties are damaged and great destructions of the ecosystem.
