A thesis statement contains the following elements:

It announces the topic

It reflects a judgment about the topic

It provides a blueprint for what is to come

I have found that most people at work are motivated primarily by money- Broad. The statement topic is factors contributing to employee motivation. It also reflects a judgment about the topic. For instance, a person reading the statement would be able to judge employee intentions. However, the statement does not provide a blueprint for what is expected to come. A stronger statement- motivation is a factor of employee production. It increases their morale to work more efficiently and effectively.

Happy workers are more productive than unhappy workers- Broad. The statement’s topic is factors that boost employee productivity. It announces the topic which is productivity as well as judgment as to what does and what does not motivate workers. However, it does not provide a blueprint for what is expected to happen. Stronger statement- productivity is a product of employee efforts in addition to other resources with an aim of achieving an organization’s goals. Happy employees are highly motivated to take part in production unlike unhappy ones.

Many motivation theories taught in business schools such as Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and self-efficacy theory are culturally biased- Strong. The statement’s topic is motivation theories. It has a judgment whereby it states that the hierarchy of needs is culturally biased. The blueprint of the statement is the outcome from cultural affiliation.

Organizations use a wide range of financial and nonfinancial performance rewards to motivate their employees. Various theories have been used to explain this line of thought. The aim of the paper would be to use such theories to explain the motivation behind employee performance (Wren, Bedeian, & Breeze, 2002).
