It is clear that from the above discussion, the positive impacts of hosting world cup outweigh the negative impacts. The negative are quite few and not given much emphasis. They include issues like environmental pollution, noise, traffic congestion among other minor impacts. FIFA World Cup is adouble-edged sword only if it is used in the right way. It brings outstanding benefits otherwise the destruction that can be associated with the abuse of the even would be unlimited and costly. The key decision makers, investors and organizers of the event need to have their individual independent thoughts, which should neither, be driven excessively by the overstated version from neither sport booster nor have a fear of risks and costs that economists tend to mention when organizing such events. The negative and positive contributions of FIFA are just crucial factors associated with mega-sporting events.
