Austria is a country found in Europe. Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland bounds it to the south, Switzerland, Germany and Liechtenstein to its west, its East has Hungary, Czech Republic, and Slovakia bounds it to its northeast. It is quite centrally located. According to 2001 census, it has a population of 8,032,926 people[ CITATION Fed l 1033 ].
The central location of Austria in Europe lies where the climatic zone is temperate under the influence of the Atlantic climate. Hence, it experiences the four seasons with characterized climate and temperatures. It has three very diverse climatic regions, that is, East: experiences low precipitation, hot summers and cold winters, Alpine regions: experiences high rainfall, long winters and short summers and finally the remaining regions have a volatile climate of the Atlantic in the west and the continental influence in the south-east regions[ CITATION Aue00 l 1033 ]. The Fauna and Flora in Austria are amazingly diverse due to the different climates and topography of the landscape. The flora comprises mostly of wooded plantations branded with many deciduous trees, and the rest is a mixed forest. The wildlife there is again unique when to consider the fauna. The environment in the mountains is suitable for nature bears.
The government of Austria is very simple and systematic. The state comprises of the following nine regions; Carinthia, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg, Styria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Burgenland and Vienna as the capital. All the federal districts are independent and have their governments. The legislation is practiced and by the Nationalrat (national council) assisted by the Bundesrat (Upper House of Parliament). Austria is one of the European Union and United Nations members[ CITATION Maz05 l 1033 ].
The Austria people are German speakers. Nearly, 74% of the population belong to the Roman Catholic, 5% of the remaining are Protestant while the other faiths make up for the remaining percent. It’s quite a religious state.
Austria used the Euro as their currency and was introduced to them in 1999, 1st of January. It’s among the wealthiest countries in Europe and has an adamant economy. It has high holding on machinery, textiles, and even metallurgical products, however, it’s most substantial and most important sector is tourism. It has managed to have a stable economy where there is a high standard of living. One of their major economic activities is exporting where they deal with mainly wine among other things.
Austria people value their festive seasons among other traditions. Annually, from September to the month of June is the season of theater and opera performances. The other major festivals take place between July and August. Most tourist visit during festivals to have more than just touring. Visiting Austria is not very complicated, all one requires is a valid passport. For those residing in Britain and Ireland, no visas are required. It is one of the places one must visit in their lifetime.
