Organizational Culture

Organizational culture entails the system of shared assumptions, values and beliefs that governs the behavior of people in an organization[ CITATION ODo10 l 1033 ]. The shared values are responsible for morality and the performance of the duties in an organization. An organization’s culture encapsulates what has been good and that had positive influence in the functionability of the organization. The understanding of the organization’s culture is important to the managers in shaping the practices and performance in the organization. In addition, managers are responsible for the innovations and therefore it is important for them to understand the organizational culture in determining the barriers to innovation in the contemporary world. The managers are the disciplinarians in the organization and therefore require understanding of the organization’s culture in ensuring health interaction with employees, rewarding the good behavior and setting of example.
