The first things that I will do after the arrival of these new guests are registration of the kid’s names, and other details. I will also register the parent’s details such as names, working place and contact information. I will schedule an orientation that involves meeting other kids, interacting with them while monitoring their actions, introduce them to other children and explain to them that the new kids will join them soon. I will also let the parents inspect the facility, the food and the children in the center. This will help them feel comfortable to leave their children in the center. I will also let them ask any question about the center and explain to them professionally.

I will also let Joe and Ally walk around the premises, inspect various equipments and space available for their kids to play in. I will also concentrate on the children by checking out how they feel about the new place and keep them comfortable especially with other new kids in the facility.

The important things that I will gather is their age, their health status, their behaviors (if they are under any emotional discomfort) and I will also inquire if they have been to any child care facility before, this is particularly concerning Charlotte. I will share with them the day program, how we manage the children, the food that they take and how we manage different scenarios especially behavioral issues. This will help them feel comfortable about the place. I will also ask Joe and Ally how they feel about the place, after the first orientation, what improvements they think will improve the facility and the fee that they are willing to pay for their children. This will help in managing their expectations about the facility while preparing them to be regular visitors as well as part of the entire Synnyvale community.

The first thing that I will do is introduce the children to the facility, explain to them what happens in the facility, introduce them to other children of the same age and closely monitor their progress with the transition. I will also make them feel comfortable by maintaining a positive attitude and outwards appearance to them in order to enhance their trust and ensure faster integration into the system. For Nathan and Nelson, because of their age and reluctance to leave the sight of their parents, I will spend more time with them, interact them with other children of the same age, this will make them more comfortable and hence easy transition from home environment to Sunnyvale community.

I will greet the children, ask them their names (comment positively when their answer), take them by hand, ask them how they feel and maintain communication in order to commence a positive interaction that will promote their integration into the center. For Nathan and Nelson, I will keep them together, take them to their new play ground and introduce them to other children in the facility; I will also keep a close watch at these children in order to address any challenge that may arise. For Charlotte, because of her previous emotional distress, I will assign a professional child handler in order to integrate her smoothly into the facility.

I will greet Charlotte; ask her name, her hobbies, and how she feels about the center. I will also ask her how she feels about meeting new friends. This will help in managing the transition. I will then introduce her to other children in the facility, manage the first interaction session and make sure that she is comfortable with other children before handing her over to a professional because of the earlier stated challenges that she faces.

I will greet the children. I will maintain a smile and greet Nelson and Nathan by hand. I will also greet the parents; I will offer a place for the parents to sit while I register the children. Importantly, I will give parents numbers to call in case the infants face a distress.

In the course of the day, I will ensure that these new infants get their favorite toys and engage them in songs that will help in engaging them, rhymes like “row your boat” will be a great way of engaging them.

I will also ensure that I maintain eye contact with the children and communicate with them in a positive tone of voice. Physical contact will also be an important way of engaging them. In the event that there is a distress, I will use communicate them while maintaining positive facial expression.

I will encourage Ally to visit the center in to breastfeed the boys. I will organize a place for them in order to remove the discomfort of the crowd and allow them to have a good time. I will also ask her preferred time schedule so that I can have someone ready to assist her when she visits the facility. I will ensure that all her inquiries are professionally answered and demonstrate not only professionalism but a sense of care and comfort in the facility.

I will store the milk in a refrigerator; I will make sure that a clean container is used with dates, time and child’s name. Before usage, I will warm the milk by swirling it in a bowl of warm water. I will avoid using the microwave because it does not warm the milk evenly and consequently, it may scald the baby. I will also ensure to use the milk according to dates, (use old milk first). I will ensure that the milk is always stored in a clean place and also given to these children in a clean place in order to avoid any stomach discomfort.

I will maintain a positive attitude and sit down in a posture that encourages relaxation in order to relax the kids. I will maintain constant communication during the bottle feeding routine in order to encourage the kids to be relaxed and feed without hurrying. I will also ensure break sessions in between the feeding process. This break session is an important part of child breastfeeding because it encourages them to relax before going on with their breastfeeding process. Children’s attention is also short and hence the need to be patient while breastfeeding them.

DTaP: Diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis vaccine, Hib: Haemophilus influenzae type b vaccine, PCV: Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and Rota: Rotavirus vaccines are vaccines that should be administered to 6 months old (King &Meagher 2009, p.204). I will keep records and reminders to organize for their vaccination. I will keep in touch with the doctor to organize the immunization process. When the immunization date arrives, I will inform the doctor and the parents in order for them to be aware of the exercise. This will also help in organizing medicines required and change of diet for that day if the need arises.

I will agree to let Charlotte not sleep during the day unless she feels so, I will however maintain the sleep patterns on Nelson and Nathan but ensure that they have the bottle milk before sleeping. I will however maintain an open mind about their sleep needs since they are still growing and the routine might change in the course of the development process. In the event that Charlotte falls asleep during the day, I will organize a place for her. She might fall asleep as a result of physical activities that they do in the facility.

Communication will be the key to handling Nelson and Nathan distress; I will spend more time with them together with Charlotte in order for them to feel comfortable. I will check on them time after time in order to handle any distress issue before it escalates. Making them feel comfortable will be the key to successfully handling any distress that may arise in the course of the day. I will also keep their parents informed about what is happening with their children.

Charlotte communication and behavior will reveal discomfort, if she reduces interaction with other kids and if her behavior suddenly changes. This will indicate distress. I will also keep checking on her behavior in order to establish any changes that may indicate a sign of distress.

I will respond to Charlotte distress by talking to her, encouraging her to interact with other children and asking her how she feels. I will maintain a positive attitude and posture in order to reduce her distress. I will also inform her parents, advice from her parents will also be essential when dealing with Charlotte distress.

I will slow the process down, I will encourage the parent to explain to them what is about to happen but maintain positive communication by letting them know that she will be back shortly. I will also let the children say bye to their parents in order for them to understand and accept the transition. I will encourage the parents to let the kids know that they will come back later. A phone call to talk to Charlotte after they have left will also encourage a smooth transition process.

Communication is an important aspect to families especially when they are not near each other. As such I will ensure that there is constant communication with Joe and Ally. The best way to accomplish this is by.

Ensuring that I show them what the children did during the day, I will do this when they came to pick up the children. I will also update them on their progress (settling down at the institution).

I will also inform them about the daily routine such as sleep pattern, eating behavior, nappy change and other bowel related information.

I will send them mails, (e-mail), newsletters, and other related information. I will also call them during the day. By sharing detailed information about their children, I will develop trust.

I will also share rules and other details about the center, put the photos of their children in the wall. Lastly, I will inform them on any routine changes, either bowel related, eating patterns or sleep patterns especially for Nathan and Nelson.

I will share with the parent’s important information such as her behavior, the type of games she plays, any special interest such as playing with the piano in order for the parents to monitor her physical growth and new interest. I will also explain any signs of distress that were noticed during the course of the day in order for them to contribute in handling these issues.

I will share any new developments such as changing sleeping and feeding patterns, I will also share information regarding their developments like new words. I will too share my experience with other kids of the same age in order to set a benchmark for Nathan and Nelson development progress.

Under the Early Years Learning Framework, the following outcomes relate to Nathan and Nelson’s social and emotional wellbeing.

Article 3 of the UNCROC which provides for best interest of the child is relevant for Charlotte case. This is because of her movement to a new environment and she may experience distress and hence the need for further care and consideration of her preference before she is left in the facility (King &Meagher 2009, p.204). The article elaborates ways and means of dealing with challenges that may be experienced in the course of child management process. By keeping the best interest of the child first, handling children positively is highly encouraged by the article. This is because of the need to ensure positive development both socially, psychologically and physically, any negative development in these areas will impact of the child as an adult.

I will partner with other stakeholders such as centers and agencies that support development of families and children in order to promote ECA code of ethics in relation to children development. I will also ensure that every activity puts the best interest of the children first.

I will also comply with the United Nations Convention act on the rights of children by respecting them.

In order to promote strong family connection, I will enhance safe, healthy and positive environment in order to develop and engage children’s self worth, dignity, and respect.
