3ANALYSIS OF PRESENTATION

Introduction

A good oral presentation need to be planned for, prepared, practiced and delivered. Preparing involves decision of what the topic is all about and in accordance with the video clips the message should be delivered to audience in entertaining manner to get the message through with ease. Richard Gill presentation includes many visual aids whereby he uses a piano in his presentation unlike VictorWooten presentation. Both are entertaining their audience though in my view Richard Gill seems to entertain the audience more (De Grez et al., 2012).

Effectiveness of Oral Presentation

An effective oral presentation has to make points clear elucidate, make good eye contacts and avoid filters. Both Richard and Victor possess the above mentioned qualities they talk to the audience by not only facing the audience but also gaining the eye contacts. They are aware of whom their audience are and in this case they are addressing the target audience. The audience have high expectation and they know there target goal is to gain the knowledge concerning music (Kerby et al., 2009).

Richards’spresentation is better than Victors since he treats the floor as a stage. Richard`s presentation is more entertaining due to presence of movements on the floor while he demonstrates the points to clarify them more. The take home message should be persistent and the audience should be able to remember the message from the speaker. Richard has involved the audience by teaching them some rhythm and then asking them to repeat. From the audience response it clear that the audience has been able to get the message through since they can remember and repeat the rhythm (De Grez et al., 2009).

Richard has acknowledged the audience`s contribution in his presentation. Victor has not been engaging the audience in his presentation hence the acknowledgement has not been an element in his speech. Both speakers are not shy since they are talking to the people andhave gained eye contact with the audience and observing keenly the audience reactions. Both speakers sounded interested and enthusiastic and did not rely on written note which is a good quality for a good speaker. Victor was loud enough at the beginning of his speech, though at the end the sound was fading and some part of the audience probably could not hear him. On the other hand Richard was loud throughout the speech which is a good oral presentation skill (Kerby et al., 2009).

Richard speech was briefer than Victors by five minutes. Presenters are advised to say less and not dwell more on talking more, but delivering little quality information. Some audience has the notion than delivering more does know more which is not true. Aclear and conscious presentation is good and it’s provocative and leads to a dialog time, which involves a lot of questions. Moreover, Richard has less talk time due to the presence of many illustrations and engagement of the audience in the presentation (Bourne 2007)

The other factor which has been captured in the videos is illustrated by the use of examples and real life situations. This enables the audience to capture clearly the message and remember it later. Richard is more humorous since a high percentage of the audience expressions are positive (Kerby et al., 2009).

Conclusion

In conclusion, both Richard and Victor have been able to deliver the message to the audience, though, Richard presentation was far much better than Victor`s Presentation.Both speakers had not had a dialog part in theirpresentation which is important to evaluate the effectiveness of the presentation and if the goals of the speakers have been attained. Visual aids like slide shows could also be included in the presentations to make it more effective.
