An Individual Reflection of Learning
One of the critical issues in the HRM is the concept of employee development. During this learning, I have been able to gain substantive information on the concept of employee development. Employee development refers to the acquisition of necessary work skill, knowledge and opinion, as well as supplying training institutions to help employees to adapt to the organization. There are various reasons for the organizations to invest in the employee development in the modern context. In the first instance, employee development is critical in the improvement of the organizational performance while increasing the employee morale, as well as the overall or eventual increase in the revenues and profit levels. The organizations also have the ability and opportunity to engage in targeting the skills, which will be critical in addressing the current and future needs of the consumers. Employee development is also critical in the realization of better customer service, as well as improvement of the loyalty and retention among the workers in pursuit of competitive advantage. Employees have the ability to execute new and diverse tasks, thus, improving their value for the achievement of the goals and targets at the end of each fiscal period.
During the study, I have been able to enhance my understanding of the concept of coaching, which is one of the techniques for the realization of effective and efficient employee development. Coaching refers to the approach by the organizational development practitioners to improve, develop, and learn new skills with the intention of finding personal success to achieve aims while managing life change and personal challenges. Coaching aims at improving attitudes while transforming behaviors, knowledge, skills, spiritual development, and physical efficiency among the employees in pursuit of their targets and goals. Coaching is one of the most valuable components in the improvement of the growth and development of the employees in pursuit of organizational stability.
For instance, coaching aims at enhancing efficiency of the employees, thus, the opportunity to keep customers happy while delivering high quality products and services at their disposal. Additionally, coaching is valuable in the management of continuous change while enabling the organizations to retain top talent in pursuit of competitive advantage and sustainability. Coaching is valuable in enabling employees to work in the collaborative-networked organizations, thus, the platform to empower workers through results, as well as reinforcement of the business practices. Furthermore, coaching plays a critical role in the building of the personal capability towards matching performance demands.
Coaches utilize a coaching framework and process for the achievement of the desired end. At the initial stage, coaching begins with the clarification of the expectations reaching agreement on the goal, thus, the platform for the documentation of the action plan. This provides the opportunity for the monitoring of the commitment and progress, which facilitates applauding of the consequences and establishments of the relevant commitments. Coaching depends on respectful relationship, thus, the platform for the valuing of the persons and their skills.
Coaching concentrates on the acknowledgement of the skills, resources, and needs while building on the strengths and utilizing diverse tools to enable target audiences to discover the strengths through clarification of their situation. The coach plays a critical role of supporting clients as they progress, thus, the opportunity to reflect on the decisions while challenging the desire for accountability and higher achievement. Conclusively, I have been able to enhance my understanding of the concept of coaching as one of the most effective tools in pursuit of employee development in the modern society. It is critical for the existence of quality relationship between the coach and the client for the achievement of the goals and targets.
