To,

We from the trade union side have been really excited to learn that you are open for renegotiations on your employees’ remunerations. What informs our excitement is the fact that the realisation of fair workers’ emoluments is not only our aspiration, but we have also since been actively rooting for the same, by diplomatically engaging with organisational management.

At the moment, we are willing to negotiate, though we are aware that your possible quotation of your remunerations and our proposed remunerations are both subject to negotiation. Kindly note that our proposed remuneration has been informed by several factors. For one, the price happens to be concomitant to the prevailing market rate. In particular, the International Labor Organization recently crafted a comprehensive model for remunerating all employees. Indeed, there are some permutations which slightly stray from the stipulated price, depending on an array of potential variables.

We became privy to your possible intention of reviewing your system of remuneration from one of your human resources officers. Our access to this kind of information has been fed by the fact of our frantic search for this information.

It is also worth noting that we are considering making the negotiation a tripartite one comprising our representatives, your representatives and representatives from the labour department. We have been also thinking of beginning these rounds of negotiation with you in two month’s time from now. Nevertheless, our resolution remains firm on ensuring social justice as pertaining to strengthening employees’ welfare, though we highly regard employers’ rights as well. It is our wish and trust that we, you and your team of your management are going to settled on a sound price.

We therefore welcome any opportunity to negotiate the newly set international labor organisation’s standards for fair remunerations and esteem any feedback we might get from you.

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,

To,

We have been equally excited to learn that while we have been wondering about the best way to go about the newly stipulated standards for employees’ remunerations, you have contacted us. Our intention to fairly remunerate our workforce has only been necessitated by our organisational culture and firm belief in social equity.

Kindly note that as the organisation’s management, we are very willing to negotiate with you. Traditionally, our rates for personnel remuneration have been informed by a number of factors. For one, although the international labor organisation mainly provides brackets within which employers may remunerate their employees, we have always been reputed for our competitive emoluments. In return, this organisational culture has done us much good in terms of high performance target and a positive corporate image. Because of these factors, we had not contemplated making a dereliction on fair remunerations. We have never wished to sell away our organisational culture and the benefits thereof for any commercial expedience. On the contrary, our intention to recruit our personnel has always been to sustain the symbiotic relationship between our organisation and its workforce.

The import of our submission is to reiterate clearly that should any potential negotiation for salary increments come up, we are much ready to follow our intra-organisational and external frameworks that justly guide and inform the extension of fair employee remuneration, without any intention to victimise any employee.

Again, we happily take this opportunity to reiterate to you, our pleasure in knowing that we are both open for the tripartite negotiation on fair remuneration. Indeed, your notification came in the knick of time and we therefore highly expect us to reach a favourable point of bargain. It is therefore important that you specify the date of our first meeting so that we can settle on the preliminaries before proceeding with the bargain.

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,
